Feel at home.
Even in winter.
Your home is warm. The air still feels dry. DewVent brings together purified water and controlled steam to help put moisture back where it belongs.
Meet DewVentFive stage RO filtration. Steam controlled from your browser.
You notice dry air.
So does your home.
Cold outdoor air contains little moisture. Its relative humidity falls when it warms indoors. You may notice a dry mouth or an uncomfortable throat. Wood can lose moisture and shrink. Some houseplants develop dry leaf tips.
We are developing DewVent to add measured moisture through your ventilation system. You set a humidity band. The controller is designed to add steam when the air needs it and stop when the target is reached.
Illustrative humidity levels
The aim is balance.
Not damp windows.
A suitable setting depends on your home and the weather. Start within 30% to 50% relative humidity and reduce it if condensation appears. Colder weather may require a lower setting.
Less mineral load.
Before the steam begins.
Our water path uses five filtration stages with a reverse osmosis membrane. It reduces the dissolved minerals that enter the steam generator. Lower mineral content helps limit scale inside the system.
Purified water goes directly to the feed pump. There is no storage tank to refill.
What about the white dust?
The white film left by some ultrasonic humidifiers comes from minerals carried in tiny water droplets. Steam generally leaves those minerals behind. RO filtration lowers the mineral load further. It does not make the system maintenance free.

The control panel brings humidity readings and system status into one place. Set the level that suits your home. Check water quality and see when a filter needs attention.

A few things worth knowing.
Will DewVent fit my home?
The planned system feeds steam into a compatible ventilation system. Installation needs a water supply and a drain. Airflow and steam absorption must be checked for your home before installation.
Does RO remove every mineral?
No. RO reduces dissolved solids. The result depends on the source water and the condition of the membrane. TDS readings help monitor that change. They do not prove that water is sterile.
Will it look after my plants and furniture?
Controlling very dry air can help limit moisture loss from wood. Plants that prefer humid air may also benefit. Each material and plant has its own needs. Humidity does not replace watering or normal care.
Can I buy DewVent now?
DewVent is in development. Hardware testing and installation validation are still in progress. The control panel is available to explore. An online shop will follow later.
What needs maintaining?
The filters need replacing at suitable intervals. The steam generator needs inspection and cleaning. RO reduces mineral load but it does not remove the need for service.
